How Does It Work?

1. It works on your behalf between the Demand Meter and the Inductive Motor needing electricity.

2. It receives electricity and directs it forward to the Inductive Motors requiring electricity and recovers electricity that is not used.

- Often times the amount of electricity running through the wires is more than each particular motor, appliance, and/or equipment really needs to operate – This is called Apparent Power.

- The power actually used is called Real Power.

- The difference between the Apparent Power and the Real Power is the “Wastage or Wasted Electricity”.

The “SMART” Saver recovers this unused electricity (Apparent Power) before it is lost, stores it and then redirects it out to the motors again, thus saving electricity. This is called a "Push/Pull" process.

3. This “Recovery Process” reflects backwards or in reverse through the KVA electric meter, kilowatt hour meter (kWh) or the demand meter on the side of the building.

4. By reducing the draw of required electricity you are reducing the amount of electricity you buy.

5. This is essentially the same application the Large Utility Companies’ use when bringing electricity to you – only the "SMART" Saver is on a smaller scale and it benefits “YOU.”

6. These units DO NOT Generate Electricity or correct Resistive Loads.

7. It improves the Power Factor (PF). This is the level of efficiency a motor uses electricity. The lower the PF = Higher Electrical Bills = Shorter Motor Life or the reverse…

8. It protects against voltage Spikes, Surges, Line Noise, Harmonics and Effects of Lightning Strikes.

The “SMART” Power Savers works somewhat like a “buffer.” It is designed to handle surges and spikes (lights dim or flicker) before it reaches your motor, appliances and sensitive equipment.

This means it receives and blocks these Spikes, Surges and even the effects of Lightning before they can reach the motor, appliance or your sensitive equipment. It absorbs the impulse energy before it can reach and damage motors and equipment.

External Spikes and Surges (± 20%) caused by storms and normal power company switching operations are more severe than Internal spikes and surges as described below.

Internal Spikes and Surges (± 80%) occur frequently when equipment is cycling on, off and over-working, and can cause additional damage with older wiring, over-loaded outlets and very old equipment.
